An unmissable event among the rice fields and historic villages of Vercelli
Sunday, May 4, 2025, a unique experience awaits you in the heart of the Vercelli plains: The Cradle of Rice by Bicycle, an easy route that will take you through the rice fields at harvest time, the lowland woods and the historic villages of the area.
A special opportunity to immerse yourself in rice-growing culture, among history, spirituality and nature, accompanied by expert guides. Booking is required by Friday, May 2: don’t miss this opportunity!
A journey through history, legends and unspoiled nature
The route starts from the Parco delle Sorti e della Partecipanza, a 600-hectare green lung populated by oaks, hornbeams and rich birdlife, where you’ll feel like you’ve traveled back in time to the 1200s. We’ll pass through fascinating places like the Principality of Lucedio, where Cistercian Monks gave birth to the Vercelli rice-growing tradition.
Among ancient legends—like that of the Madonna della Vigna—and mysterious tales linked to the ghost cemetery of Dorala, the route continues along the ancient Via Francigena, until reaching a historic farmhouse where you can visit a small peasant museum.
The Street Art village and a zero-kilometer aperitif
The ride will continue toward Rive, the village that became famous for its murals dedicated to rice and peasant life. Here we’ll be welcomed by Farm One Rive, where we can enjoy a delicious aperitif with typical Vercelli products, zero-kilometer, to conclude the experience in the best way.
A perfect mix of art, nature and authentic flavors that tell the truest soul of the Po Valley.
